Grades: 6-Adult Think Prophets is a series of fourteen lessons that provide a patchwork opportunity to study the third of the Bible known as "The Prophets."
This Lesson contains historical background material, the first chapter of the book of Samuel set as a play, discussion questions, and a description of the midrashic connection between Hannah and the Amidah. Students will: (a) learn the story of how Hannah prayed and Samuel was born by reading the first chapter of the book of Samuel (set as a play), (b) be exposed to the physical location of the tribes during the period of the Judges through completing a mapping exercise, (c) learn the historical context of the books of Judges and Samuel, and (d) will explore the midrashic connection between Hannah's prayers and the Amidah.
