Most Jewish holidays that is related to the celebration. Rosh ha-Shanah has apples and honey, Hanukkah has latkes and sufganiot, Pesah has matzah and Shavuot has dairy foods. Purim is no exception. It is important for us to realize how important celebrating with these foods is. They connect us to the Jewish people around the world.
