Stories We Live by: Rabbi Elazar and the Ugly Man.  Rabbi Elazar, when greeting by a passing man, returns the greeting with the words “Boy, are you ugly! Are all your neighbors as ugly as you are?” The story teaches the value of not embarrassing.
