Grades: 6-Adult The History of Israel Series is a resource for teaching about the evolution and development of the State of Israel.
History of Israel: The Six-Day War reconstructs the context of this conflict. It begins with political situations in 1967. It tells the story of the Egyptian blockade and then tells the story of the Israeli response. It tells the story of the individual campaigns within the war, Sinai and the Gaza Strip, the West Bank and Jerusalem, and the Golan Heights. It then looks at the effects of the war. It culminates with a mapping exercise comparing the size of Israel before and after the war. Finally, it studies the song “Jerusalem of Gold” and then looks at the meaning and context of that creation.
