Henrietta Szold was a woman who built institutions. The most famous of these is Hadassah. She also created Youth Aliyah and was instrumental in the process of rescuing Jewish children from Nazi Europe. This lesson centers on her biography but also narrates the creation of those institutions. It culminates with the study of excerpts from several of her letters, which give you insight into her motivations.
