Grades: 1-3 BJL Synagogue looks at the synagogue as a dynamic place. Its central focus is the model of the synagogue including three basic functions—a beit tefillah (a house of prayer), a beit midrash (a house of study), and a beit k'nesset (a house of gathering).
This lesson students will be learning about the different “hats” a synagogue wears. They will be learning that a synagogue is a bayit (house), a beit k'nesset (house of gathering), a beit midrash (house of study), and a beit tefillah (a house of worship)
