Grades: 3-4 BJL Synagogue looks at the synagogue as a dynamic place. Its central focus is the model of the synagogue including three basic functions—a beit tefillah (a house of prayer), a beit midrash (a house of study), and a beit k'nesset (a house of gathering).
Within this lesson, students will learn about how God can stop people from doing bad things. Students will learn this concept as well as the concept of tokhekhah from reading different stories in this packet, doing some interactive activities, and working out different situations on when and if to help a person understand if he or she is doing something wrong. Lastly, the students will take home this packet, and they can do a family project at home on creating a set of rules for the way family members will share.
